Tom Stanton
Tom joined Wells and McKittrick with the goal of helping people. He has extensive experience practicing or teaching in numerous areas of the law, and is now focusing on family law and related matters.
Tom and his growing family moved to Montana in 1997 and started teaching at the University of Montana. He ultimately became a full professor and Director of the Paralegal Studies program. In that capacity, he has taught courses in numerous areas including Family Law, Civil Litigation, Contracts, and Ethics. He has also lectured on various topics to numerous legal groups.
Tom was raised in a small town in Wisconsin. He graduated from Tufts University in Medford, Massachusetts in 1986. Following college, Tom worked as a paralegal for a multinational law firm in Chicago, Illinois. He later attended and graduated from the University of Cincinnati, College of Law in Cincinnati, Ohio, in 1991. His law practice concentrated in Creditor’s Rights, Commercial Transactions, Banking, and Civil Litigation.
Tom is admitted to practice in all Montana Courts and the United States District Court for the District of Montana. He is an active member of the Montana Medical Legal Panel and St. Patrick/Provident Hospital Joint Investigational Review Board. Tom and his family thrive in the great outdoors of Montana hiking, gardening, fishing, hunting, and canoeing.
